Privacy policy

Last updated: 23 October 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Reiki with Alex ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses and shares your personal information when you visit reikiwithalex.co, use our services, make a purchase, or otherwise communicate with us. For the purposes of this policy, "you" means you as a customer, a website visitor, or anyone else whose information we hold.

Reiki with Alex is based in Vilnius, Lithuania, and is the data controller for the information described here. Because we are established in the EU, the General Data Protection Regulation applies to everything below.

In short

We do not sell your personal information to data brokers, list sellers, or anyone else for money. We have never done this and we do not intend to.

We do share limited information with a small number of service providers who make the site, the emails and the advertising work – Shopify, Google, Meta and Omnisend. Under some privacy laws, sharing data with advertising partners in this way is itself defined as "selling" or "sharing", even though no money changes hands. We would rather say that plainly than hide behind the everyday meaning of the word.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, nothing beyond what is strictly necessary is collected until you accept cookies. If you decline, the analytics and advertising tools below do not run at all.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time, to reflect changes in how we work or for legal reasons. The revised version is posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.

What personal information we collect

Information you give us directly

  • Contact details – your name and email address, and a phone number if you choose to give one.
  • Order information – your name, billing address, email address, and confirmation that payment was taken. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Booking information – the date and time you choose for a session, and anything you tell us about what you would like support with.
  • Messages – whatever you choose to write to us, through the contact form, by email, or in reply to one of our emails.

Some parts of the site need this information to work. You can choose not to give it, but then we cannot deliver a session or send you the free healing.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site we may collect information about how you use it: the pages you view, the links you follow, your approximate location derived from your IP address, your device and browser, and where you arrived from. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland this only happens after you accept cookies.

Information from others

We may receive information from the providers listed below – for example, Shopify tells us an order was paid, and Omnisend tells us whether an email was opened or a link was clicked.

How we use it

  • Delivering what you asked for. Processing orders and payments, arranging and holding sessions, sending the recordings and materials you have bought or requested. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you, Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.
  • Email. Sending the free healing, the welcome sequence, and occasional emails about the practice, where you have subscribed. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You can unsubscribe from any email, at any time, using the link at the bottom of it.
  • Understanding how the site is used. Seeing which pages people read and where visitors come from, so the site can be improved. Legal basis: your consent where a cookie banner is shown, otherwise our legitimate interest in running the site well, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
  • Advertising. Measuring whether an advert led to a visit or a purchase, and showing adverts to people likely to be interested. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.
  • Security and fraud prevention, and meeting legal obligations such as keeping accounting records. Legal basis: legitimate interest and legal obligation, Art. 6 (1) (f) and (c) GDPR.

Cookies and tracking technologies

The site uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are strictly necessary – they remember what is in your basket and keep the checkout working, and they cannot be switched off. The rest are set only with your consent where consent is required.

These are the tools actually running on reikiwithalex.co, and what each one is for:

Provider What it does Category
Shopify Hosts the shop, processes orders and payments, and records basic visit statistics. Sets _shopify_s, _shopify_y, cart and similar. Necessary and analytics
Google Analytics 4
(property G-2M6T3EVS1Z)
Measures pages viewed, sessions, and which channel a visitor arrived from. Sets _ga and _ga_*. Analytics
Google Ads Measures whether an advert led to a visit or a purchase, and supports advertising. Sets _gcl_au. This includes Google's first-party data collection, which may pass a hashed, unreadable version of an email address or phone number to Google so a conversion can be matched to an advert. Marketing
Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
(dataset 1012186020771878)
Measures whether a Facebook or Instagram advert led to a visit or a purchase, and supports advertising. Sets _fbp. Some of this is sent from our server through Meta's Conversions API rather than from your browser, but it is the same information and the same consent applies. Marketing
Omnisend Sends our emails and records whether they were delivered, opened and clicked. Email links pass through links.reikiwithalex.co for a moment so the click can be counted. On the site it sets omnisendSessionID, omnisendContactID and omnisendShopifyCart. Marketing

Google and Meta act as independent controllers for some of this processing and use the data under their own privacy policies, which you can read at policies.google.com/privacy and facebook.com/privacy/policy.

Your choice, and how to change it

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a cookie banner appears on your first visit. Nothing in the analytics or marketing rows above runs until you accept. If you decline, they stay off.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page. You can also remove or block cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may then stop working properly.

Outside those regions no banner is shown, and the tools above run from the first page view. If you would prefer they did not, use your browser controls or write to us and we will help.

Who we share personal information with

  • Shopify, which hosts the shop and processes orders on our behalf.
  • Payment providers, including Shop Pay, Stripe and PayPal, who handle payment details directly. We do not receive or store your full card number.
  • Omnisend, which sends and measures our emails.
  • Google and Meta, for the measurement and advertising described above, and only with your consent where consent is required.
  • Anyone we are legally required to share with, such as tax authorities, or in response to a lawful request.

We do not sell personal information to data brokers or list sellers, and we do not share it with anyone for their own independent marketing. Where privacy laws in some US states define "sale" or "sharing" broadly enough to include sending data to advertising partners for measurement and targeting, the sharing described in the table above falls within that definition.

Your choices in the United States

If you live in a US state with its own privacy law, you can direct us not to "sell" or "share" your personal information, or to stop processing it for targeted advertising, using the "Do not sell or share my personal information" link on this site. In practice this turns off the advertising tools described in the table above for your browser.

Our site also recognises the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends it, we treat that as a valid opt-out request for that browser without you needing to do anything else. You can read more at globalprivacycontrol.org.

We will not treat you any differently for exercising this choice.

Where your information is held

Shopify, Google, Meta and Omnisend process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that happens, transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, as applicable to each provider.

How long we keep it

Order and accounting records are kept for as long as Lithuanian tax law requires. Email subscribers are kept until they unsubscribe or ask to be removed. Analytics and advertising data is kept according to each provider's retention settings, which for Google Analytics is currently the shortest option available.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that is wrong.
  • Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it.
  • Receive a copy in a portable format, or have it sent to someone else.
  • Object to or restrict processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, for email or for cookies, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.
  • Complain to a supervisory authority. In Lithuania this is the State Data Protection Inspectorate, vdai.lrv.lt. If you live elsewhere in the EEA you can complain to your own authority.

To use any of these rights, email hi@reikiwithalex.co. We will respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not hand your information to someone else.

Children

The site and its services are not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, write to us and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, and the platforms we use maintain their own security measures. No system is perfect, though, so please do not send sensitive personal or health information to us by email unless it is necessary.

Links to other sites

Our site links to YouTube, Instagram and Facebook, among others. Once you follow a link you are on their site, under their privacy policy, not ours.
